Patty Pet – Positive Pet Training 2017-02-20T00:27:58+00:00

Taking a positive approach to training your pet will benefit your relationship with him/her and increase the likelihood that your furry friend repeats the desired behavior. By eliminating the use of pain or punishment, you strengthen the bond between you and your pet and create a mutually established trust and reliance.

At Patty Pet, our passion for animals makes us so devoted to helping your furry friend reach their highest potential. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your pet is unable to learn positive, healthy behaviors that will make both your life and theirs easier and safer.  From basic to advanced levels of training to bird to dog training, we truly do it all.

Mr. Beau, a 7 year old Bulldog/Beagle mix, spent most of his life in the Friends of Strays animal shelter. Thankfully, this is a non-kill shelter, otherwise Mr.Beau’s aggression towards human and animals would have led to him to be put down.

When Mr. Beau arrived at the shelter as a puppy he showed aggressive behavior that indicated he was previously abused. Although he never bit anyone he often snapped, barked excessively and allowed very few people to touch him. The chance of him being adopted was so slim that they took him off the adoption list. Although the Friends of Strays staff did a wonderful job taking care of him for years, a shelter is not a home.

As your number one dog trainer in the St Petersburg and Bradenton, Florida area, we believe training your pet can be a fun and rewarding experience for both parties. Here at Patty Pet, positive training methods are the only kind of techniques we use to reinforce new and desired behavior because we believe real change comes with the right motivation. Through our obedience programs (basic and advanced), problem solving and private/group classes, you will never again have to worry about taking your dog around other people or about troublesome behavior. We want you to have a Happy Pet!

We know how much you love your furry friend, but sometimes they can be a nuisance. If you are frustrated with them chewing your furniture, running away, yanking their leash, ruining furniture, biting or jumping, it’s time to change that behavior. No one wants to lock their dog away in another room when they have guests over, or feel like the neighbors suddenly retreat indoors when it’s time to take your pup for a walk.
